The BBC Service Line has just conformed to us that the "Last Night of the Proms" will not be shown in Hyde Park this year.

The extremely popular event seems to have been axed for unknown reasons. The BBC spokesman could not give a reason. Do we suspect the Woke-Brigade objecting?

So you will have to sing Land of Hope and Glory or Rule Britannia in your living room this year. But at least then you can be sure it won't be raining and you won't need an expensive drive and park to London.

The Dorset Echo reports there were ugly scenes witnessed yesterday as the controversial barge (Bibby Stockholm) made its arrival at Portland Port.

South Dorset MP, Richard Drax said he was concerned to see angry clashes between groups of people as the Bibby Stockholm barge docked.

Evidently police were called to separate the rival groups as tensions ran high.

The barge is intended to become a temporary home for 500 single men who are seeking asylum.
